First Grade and Eighth Grade
St. Ambrose has a Buddy Program where middle school students are paired with students in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade. When the student enters Pre-K they are matched with a 6th grader. They remain partners for three years. They attend all-school Masses together and work together during the school year. This week the Eighth grade students visited their buddies in the First grade classroom to spend time reading together.
During the Daily 5, Second Grade students used pipe cleaners to make their spelling words and spent time reading together.
Third Grade made hula hoop Venn Diagrams to compare and contrast the traditional story of The Three Little Pigs with the book The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka.
Fifth Grade students cheered on their classmate, Angelo, during a chess match against Izet.
St. Ambrose families spent time together at home to select a virtue their family would focus on during this school year. They created a sign to display in their home and then took a family virtue selfie to be displayed at school. Here are some of the virtue selfies submitted this week.
