As we enter the second week of Advent, it is a good time to reflect on the coming of Jesus. We step up our longing a bit more intensely as we ponder what the meaning of Christmas is and how our hearts will be ready. We reflect on the theme of our God coming to save us. During this week, let us take time in the frantic pace of life to pause and breathe as we remember that there is a loving God ready at every moment to help us and to love us.
A special thanks to our Eighth Grade and their parents for a successful Breakfast with Santa. Thanks to our Santa and Mr. Hall for taking the pictures. A note of thanks for our kitchen crew, many of whom are parents of alumni but continue to give back to St. Ambrose!
Remember that the Christmas concert is this Wednesday evening at 7 PM in the Church. Mr. Scott has tied the songs around our virtue of hope this year. Thanks to our teachers and students who have been working diligently.
A final note to save the date for March 6 which is Msgr. Bommarito’s Pasta Dinner and November 5, 2016 is the auction at the Rose of the Hill.

In the Classroom
The 5th Grade spent time in the sacristy with Msgr. Bommarito learning about the vestments and vessels used during the celebration of the Eucharist.
The 8th Grade students continued their study of the body systems by dissecting sheep brains. They were able to identify the cerebellum, cerebrum, optic nerve, brain stem, and more.
Thanks to everyone who took a moment last Tuesday to make a donation to St. Ambrose! If you have not had a chance to view the video the 8th Graders created you can still view it on YouTube at https://youtu.be/V7HxITK0Zu4. The students did a great job on it!
